The International Tourism Film Festival Africa (ITFFA) and Africa’s Eden have announced a partnership aimed at promoting sustainable tourism and conservation across the continent. This collaboration will highlight Africa as a premier film production destination while supporting economic growth, local communities and environmental initiatives.
Africa’s Eden, a non-profit organisation based in Botswana, represents over 400 member properties, activities and tour operators. Through this partnership, filmmakers will gain access to unique and often unexplored locations to create compelling visual narratives that showcase Africa’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
“This collaboration marks an important step in promoting responsible tourism and sustainability,” said James Byrne, Founder of ITFFA. “Together, we will amplify Africa’s story and inspire the world to embrace responsible travel practices that protect the essence of what makes our continent extraordinary.”
A key focus of the partnership is the promotion of sustainable filmmaking practices in line with global industry trends. It also aims to nurture local talent through workshops, training programmes and networking opportunities ensuring a lasting impact on Africa’s tourism and film industries.
As part of the initiative, ITFFA will participate in the Africa’s Eden Travel Show Africa Edition 2025 in Livingstone, Zambia, where Byrne will deliver a keynote address on the economic benefits of sustainable tourism.
With sustainability at the heart of this collaboration, both organisations are committed to advancing tourism initiatives that benefit local economies while preserving Africa’s landscapes and cultural heritage.
