A new treehouse safari lodge is under development in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe, with construction led by Imvelo Safari Lodges in collaboration with US-based Nelson Treehouse.
The Tum Tum Treehouses Lodge, set to open in late 2025, will feature six rooms accommodating up to 12 guests in the south-eastern region of Hwange. The lodge will include four elevated treehouses with wooden platforms, canvas roofs and en-suite bathrooms as well as two ground-level rooms for family accommodation.
Two designers from Nelson Treehouse, known for their expertise in sustainable treehouse construction, recently visited Hwange to oversee the design process. The project prioritises eco-friendly building methods, ensuring the structures are integrated into the surrounding teak and camelthorn woodland without damaging the trees.
Tum Tum Treehouses Lodge will offer a similar wildlife experience to Camelthorn Lodge and Bomani Tented Lodge, including:
- Game drives and bush walks in Hwange National Park.
- The rhino experience in Mlevu Sanctuary.
- Visits to local community projects.
