Proflight Zambia has partnered with Kasama Coffee to serve 100% Zambian-grown coffee on its flights. The coffee, cultivated at Kansato Farms in Kasama, will be available on select routes with plans for a full rollout across the airline’s network.
This initiative aligns with Proflight Zambia’s commitment to responsible tourism and local economic development. The airline’s Director of Flight Operations, Josias Walubita, emphasised the importance of such collaborations.
“As Zambia’s leading airline, we are committed to uplifting local businesses and showcasing the best of Zambia to the world,” Walubita said. “Kasama Coffee isn’t just any coffee – it represents sustainability, community impact and Zambian innovation.”
Kasama Coffee’s operations focus on job creation and sustainability. Founder Luke Powell explained that the farm prioritises manual labour over mechanisation to provide employment opportunities.
“We don’t use tractors or mechanical machinery where we can avoid it – we create jobs to put food on plates,” Powell said. “From planting to harvesting, everything is done by hand, supporting over 50 full-time workers and hundreds more during harvest season.”
