The Ministry of Health has deployed rapid response teams, isolated contacts and initiated targeted vaccinations in affected areas.

The government has also increased health surveillance at key entry points, including Entebbe International Airport and major border crossings, while reinforcing public awareness campaigns on Ebola prevention and safety. Tourism activities, including safaris and cultural experiences, continue as planned with authorities emphasising that Uganda remains open and safe for travellers.

The United Nations (UN) in Uganda has pledged full support for the government-led response, commending its transparency and decisive action. UN agencies, including the World Health Organization, UNICEF and the World Food Programme, are providing technical expertise, logistical assistance and emergency resources to strengthen disease surveillance, case detection and infection control.

The Ugandan government and the UN stress the importance of vigilance while ensuring normal economic and tourism activities continue with necessary precautions. Travellers are advised to follow Ministry of Health guidelines, including regular handwashing and using sanitisers.
