This week’s top comment relates to a story about the Lufthansa Group’s introduction of additional flights to Johannesburg.
Owner and founder of Suit’ & Frühstück Zum Latschen in Germany, Clemens Gjertsen, said the additional flights would boost South Africa’s European appeal:
“This is also (even more) attractive for guests from other European countries or, if they can, make a booking with a departure from a country that is not the 'home' country of one of these airlines. Tickets can then be much cheaper for premium (business or first), as little as half the price of the ticket compared with the rates from one of the airlines’ home countries. Departures from Amsterdam, Italy or one of the Scandinavian countries are often very attractive and, in some periods, when travelling together (partner rates).”
