South African-based tour operator, Captured In Africa, has announced a new guided conservation safari that offers not only views of Africa’s wildlife but also provides insight into conservation efforts.
The eight-day ‘Rhino Route’ gives a behind-the-scenes look into conservation of the endangered herbivores. Guests are taken from Johannesburg to Timbavati Private Game Reserve, visiting attractions on the way. They visit rhino orphan care-takers at renowned rhino rescue facility, Care For Wild, and enjoy exclusive presentations from anti-poaching rangers at a five-star luxury lodge in Timbavati Private Game Reserve, where they spend the last two nights of the tour.
“The Rhino Route is a chance for everyone to appreciate these magnificent animals in their wild habitat but, importantly, a chance for travellers to understand the issues that are affecting rhinos and why they're poached,” said Captured In Africa CEO, Drew Abrahamson.
Guests can expect to visit South African landmarks such as the Cradle of Humankind and Blyde River Canyon.
"Captured In Africa is in the unique position of already working with anti-poaching units as part of our foundation's efforts, so by incorporating their efforts into a conservation safari, whereby tourists can both learn and give back is truly the best form of tourism we can do for wildlife right now,” said Captured In Africa's Sales and Marketing Manager, Paul Tully.
