IT sucked them in like a magnet.
If you were a Looney, you had to be at the Travel Industry’s inaugural Looney Games last week.
The Loonies came from Rustenburg Travel in the West to SATC Reynolds Travel in the East.
Conceived by TravelHub, TNW and HiSide, the team-building company, the objective of the Looney Games was simple: Put the fun back into the travel industry.
From catapulting chickens, to Chinese water torture and human foosball, the teams representing a cross section of agents and some suppliers were tested and tormented in ways they had never been before.
On Sunday morning some 250 people attended the event at the Helderfontein Conference Centre on the edge of Sandton. On Show Solutions co-ordinated the entries.
Such was the success that planning will shortly begin for the 2009 Looney Games. If you want to secure one of the limited berths and like the idea of a fun team-build and networking event, pre-register your interest by emailing etnweditor@nowmedia.co.za. If you are a supplier and wish to consider sponsoring an event please do likewise.
The Imperial Mints (Imperial & Europcar) were the overall winners, with The M.Phoo's (Now Media) team coming in second. Pictures have been added to the Industry Event Gallery under the Industry Platform.
