This year’s Indaba trade show will offer more quality networking opportunities, more industry experts behind the microphone and a renewed focus on creating future growth through tourism, says SA Tourism.
According to SA Tourism Acting CEO, Sthembiso Dlamini, care has been taken to re-focus the event.

“The Indaba 2016 programme is being designed in response to feedback from exhibitors who unanimously said they wanted a business-enabling and informative show that will allow them opportunities to access the speakers, have face time with media and meet with reputable buyers,” said Dlamini. “There are other changes we are working on to implement but all in all, we are excited that the programme we’re designing will meet the needs and expectations of exhibitors and we cannot wait to reveal more.”

This year’s Indaba will offer three speed networking sessions on the themes: World Heritage Sites & Culture, Safari and Adventure. These have been identified based on the most popular tourist experiences. The sessions will give product owners the opportunity to present their product to international buyers. The sessions will take place daily from 08h30-10h00 so that buyers are available for their day-to-day meetings with exhibitors.
“In our planning we kept coming back to wanting to create an event that embodies the spirit and soul of what Africa is about but in a business setting,” said Dlamini. “Visitors and exhibitors should expect to come and connect with the roots of Africa’s unique tourism offering; and leave with business opportunities in hand.”
Indaba 2016 takes place from May 7-9 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban, KwaZulu Natal.
