Exhibitor registrations for Indaba 2017 are now open, South African Tourism has confirmed.
Indaba 2017 will take place from 16-18 May 2017 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban, KwaZulu Natal, and will be organised by Pure Grit Project and Exhibitions Management on behalf of SA.
The show is aimed at connecting the South African tourism industry with global industry players by attracting international buyers and media from across the world. Exhibitors from across Africa are also invited.
“Indaba 2017 is about industry partnerships and collaborations with a common purpose to showcase South Africa’s tourism offering,” says Sisa Ntshona, SA Tourism CEO. “We are constantly taking in feedback from the industry in order to ensure that we provide real value and benefits for all exhibitors (small and big) for better business dealings.”
According to Ntshona, while exhibitor rates have increased, increases are comparatively low. “Rates for exhibiting have only escalated by 6% (CPIX), where most exhibition organisers have increased the rates from between 10 – 12% for 2017,” he said, adding that the organisation is absorbing the increased costs in order to minimise the effect on exhibitors.
“We believe that the quality of exhibitors is vital in order to attract the right audience to the exhibition next year. The harsh economic climate could affect the decision of some exhibitors to attend and it is for this reason that we have decided to absorb the costs,” said Ntshona.
