The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has leapt at the opportunity to capitalise on the global attention given to the Olympic Games in Paris, with the establishment of various marketing and awareness campaigns of the East African country’s tourism offerings, culture and heritage.
One of the board’s flagship projects has been the establishment of Kenya House 2024, located at Galerie Joseph in the Paris suburb of Saint-Merri.
Open throughout the games, Kenya House has attracted thousands of visitors to enjoy experiences such as fashion shows, live cultural performances, beading and dancing workshops, and panel discussions on the country’s rich paleontological and cultural history.
The facility features a range of exhibits and a virtual reality zone that allows visitors to immerse themselves in the country’s colourful sights and sounds.
KTB CEO June Chepkemei has said that the board will also be rewarding Olympic medallists from Kenya with safari packages, recognising that these world-class athletes are amongst the country’s best ambassadors on the global stage.
At the time of writing, Kenya had netted four medals at the 2024 games, including one gold, one silver and two bronze.
