Lalibela Game Reserve has introduced walking safaris for guests.

Guests can go on walks in Lalibela’s breeding area next to the Big Five area. Vernon Wait, Marketing Director, says it’s a great activity for families to enjoy. A group of up to four guests can also walk in the Big Five area of the reserve with an armed guide.

The walks are conducted in between game drives, in the late morning until early afternoon. Guests have a fairly good chance of coming across at least one of the Big Five, says Wait. 

April until September present ideal weather conditions for walking safaris, while the game viewing in the Eastern Cape is consistent throughout the year.
