Following a fire that broke out last year, Tau Game Lodge in the Madikwe Reserve, in the North West province of South Africa, bordering Botswana, boasts a variety of additions, with more to come.
Renate Oostmeijer, GM of Tau's Head Office said: “Five-star lodges have to remain proactive and update constantly, so there will be more to come, but at this stage they will be soft and with no impact on guests. In fact, during the late 2017 refurbishments, guests were unaware of the work taking place.”

The lodge is enclosed within the malaria-free reserve, with subtle fencing for safety reasons, while wildlife, including several crocodiles, roam free.
Dinner at Tau Game Lodge is a convivial experience, hosted at the boma, restaurant or dining deck, weather dependent.
Guests can enjoy early-morning game drives on the Big Five reserve, offering the most ideal lighting for photography enthusiasts. Game drives include a pit stop for Amarula coffee and buttermilk rusks. Afternoon game drives include sundowners before returning to the lodge for dinner.
The lodge is suitable for all types of travellers, with the Tau Cubz Club catering for families, the Tau Spa Oasis for those wanting to unwind, and the Tau Conference Centre for corporates.
