The 11th edition of Meetings Africa will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg between February 22 and 24.
Meetings Africa schedule:
Tuesday, February 22 – Business opportunity networking day (Bond) will not only have a strong focus on networking but will also see regional and local speakers discuss the business events industry and provide educational sessions around new trends within the industry.
Wednesday, February 23 – South African Minister of Tourism, Derek Hanekom, will officially open day two of Meetings Africa and will address what Meetings Africa 2016 hopes to achieve. This will be followed by a panel discussion where the impact of a country’s image on its business events industry will be discussed.
Thursday, February 24 – The final day features the Green Stand Awards ceremony for the top green stands at Meetings Africa.
In 2015, Meetings Africa hosted 270 exhibitors (3% increase from 2014), 14 African countries representing over 41 products, and 178 international hosted buyers.
“Meetings Africa is gaining traction and we are pleased with the growth we are noticing,” said South African Tourism acting CEO, Sthembiso Dlamini at the Meetings Africa media launch held on January 28 at the Sandton Sun.
Meetings Africa 2016 is expected to attract over 600 international, local and regional buyers looking for venues to host everything from high-level exhibitions and conferences to small corporate meetings.
