Escape Cycle Tours, in partnership with Return Africa, will introduce a new cycling safari, in October, taking in the Northern part of the Kruger National Park.
The first Northern Kruger Cycle Safari will take place from October 13-16. The tour dates for 2018 have been released, and will operate during the trail season between May and October.
The duration of the tour is three nights and four days. The group is accompanied by two armed trail guides at the front, with a support vehicle a few hundred meters behind following the group. Additional travel arrangements may also be arranged.
Those that want to participate in the cycling safari do not need to have an extremely high level of fitness, as it is not competitive in nature, although a small level of fitness is required. Cameron Murray, from Escape Cycle Tours says, “a support vehicle will follow not far behind the cyclists, offering guests the option to load their bicycle onto the car and enjoy the safari from the comforts of the vehicle. There will be many stops along the route, allowing guests to experience and enjoy the ecological diversity that the Northern Kruger has to offer”.
Additional safari activities can be arranged at Kruger, Mapungubwe and Morning Sun Nature Reserve (Eco lodge). All the equipment can be hired directly from Escape Cycle Tours at an additional cost. Each tour is limited to six cyclists per group.
Sam Dalais from Return Africa says, “if there is a demand, the tour can be tailored to the group’s needs, with a combination of cycling and walking”.
