A brand-new five-star luxury lodge, Lodge 23, has opened on a private reserve bordering the Kruger National Park.
Lodge 23 is located on the banks of the Sabie River on a 290-hectare private reserve estate, Elephant Point, which is a five-hour drive from Johannesburg or 45 minutes from Skukuza airport.
Four self-catering rooms are styled with Indian and Moroccan themes and all guest bedrooms face the river. Activities near the lodge include self-drive game viewing in the Kruger Park, guided rhino walks, open-air vehicle drives and golf at the Gary Player golf course, which 10km away.
Each room has an en-suite bathroom with outside shower or bath, tea- and coffee-making facilities, air-conditioner and fan. Guests can make use of the lodge’s pool and deck, and the enclosed boma fire pit with seating for eight people.
There is a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, an upstairs covered viewing deck and bar with flat-screen TV, DStv and DVD player, a large lounge and dining area with fireplace, pizza oven and Weber kettle braai and large outside dining deck.
