Minor Hotels has reached a milestone with 30 properties earning prestigious Green Growth 2050 Platinum certification – a rigorous global sustainability standard. Among these, Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas has become the group’s first African property to achieve Platinum status.
Located in the Seychelles, the resort has implemented comprehensive sustainability measures including:
- Water conservation: Rainwater harvesting and treated wastewater repurposed for irrigation.
- Sustainable sourcing: Ingredients sourced from on-site gardens for vegetarian and vegan menus, reducing carbon emissions and supporting local suppliers.
- Waste management: A “no plastic” policy, extensive recycling and composting of kitchen waste.
- Community engagement: Beach clean-ups and conservation education initiatives with local schools.
