The Botswana Unified Revenue Service has announced that the Pont Drift and Parr’s Halt border posts reopened on March 14. The border posts were temporarily closed due to flooding, which disrupted cross-border movement between Botswana and South Africa.
At Pont Drift, movement is currently restricted to the cable car crossing as vehicle access remains suspended until the Limpopo River water levels recede. Travellers using this border should plan accordingly. Meanwhile, the Parr’s Halt border post is fully operational for pedestrians and vehicles.
The Pont Drift cable car crossing has limited capacity and may not accommodate certain travellers. Those requiring vehicle access should consider alternative routes until normal operations resume
