CAPE Town Tourism (CTT) and Noordhoek Tourism have concluded an accreditation agreement, which integrates the former independent Cape Peninsula-based local visitor information centre into CTT’s extensive network of visitor centres.
From September 1, Noordhoek Tourism members will become CTT members and enjoy improved market access, tourism industry training and a wide range of support services. The Noordhoek office will also be rebranded in CTT livery.
“We have developed a dynamic accreditation model to expand visitor service delivery and tourism support beyond the traditional municipal locations without increased funding. Accreditation enables other associations and private organisations to adopt CTT’s business model and operate official visitor centres in partnership and with support from CTT,” said CTT ceo, Mariëtte du Toit-Helmbold.
Noordhoek Tourism has been fielding more than 12 000 walk-in visitor enquiries annually. First opened in 1987, the centre is situated at the entrance to the Noordhoek Farm Village and is open seven days a week. Besides assisting visitors to find holiday accommodation and to participate in a wide range of recreational activities including horse-riding, fishing, bird-watching and scuba-diving, the centre also sells a wide range of useful maps and products including Chapman’s Peak Drive frequent user cards, SANParks Wild Cards and Skyrove “Hot Spot” vouchers for broadband Internet access in the Noordhoek Farm Village.
