Africa’s Eden members – Shenton Safaris, Classic Zambia and Chundukwa River Lodge – have teamed up to offer a new itinerary, ‘The ultimate Zambian adventure’.
Offering two- and three-week itineraries, the emphasis of the partnership is on personalised, owner-run camps in remote areas.
The 12-night ‘Highlights of Zambia’ starts in South Luangwa, home of Shenton Safari’s Kaingo Camp.
The experience then moves on to the Lower Zambezi for river-based activities such as canoeing, boating and tiger fishing, while staying at the Kutali Camp.
In Kafue, Zambia’s largest national park, Musekese Bush Camp boasts diverse landscapes, birding and wildlife. Finally, the journey culminates with a few nights at Chundukwa River Lodge in Livingstone. The lodge assists in the care and rehabilitation of farm animals, and offers horseback safaris.
The extended 18-night ‘Zambia Encompassed’ adds stays at Mwamba Bush Camp in South Luangwa, Chula Island Camp in the Lower Zambezi, and Ntemwa-Busanga in the flooded grasslands of the Busanga Plains.
“The Shentons and their extended family of extraordinary guides, have been sharing the magic of South Luangwa National Park with guests from all over the world for more than three decades,” said Alexandra Jonker, Sales and Marketing Manager of Shenton Safaris.
“With our owner-run commitment to providing a uniquely tailored experience with incredible wildlife viewing, we want to ensure consistency throughout a guest’s visit to this remarkable country,” Jonker added.
Tyrone McKeith, co-founder of Classic Zambia, said: “One of the best aspects of our safaris is the variety of activities on offer; whether it’s a love of birds, water, big game or just wanting to feel a little closer to the bush. The shared ethos of the respective owner-run operations complements this, and will ensure a particularly memorable safari.”
One of the biggest drawcards Shenton Safaris offers is its network of wildlife hides. The hides target different aspects of the South Luangwa environment, with mobile hides to take advantage of unique wildlife moments, such as the Carmine-Bee Eater migration, and fixed photographic hides such as Hippo Hide, Last Waterhole Hide and Elephant Hide.
Each journey is customisable and is designed to assist travel planners with recommending the right camps and lodges.
