Tanzanian airline, Precision Air, has introduced scheduled flights between Dar es Salaam and the Serengeti National Park on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
It is the first airline to introduce scheduled flights from its hub, Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam to Seronera Airstrip in the Serengeti National Park. Previously, the carrier operated charter flights from Dar es Salaam to the park.
The launch of the new route came after the airline reintroduced direct flights between Dar es Salaam and Entebbe, Uganda, in July.
The flights will be popular with international wildlife lovers who previously had to travel by air from Dar es Salaam to either Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport then face a long journey by road.
At the announcement of the new route in May, Precision Air Commercial Director, Robert Owusu, said the airline was planning to introduce scheduled flights to Serengeti to make it easier for tourists to access the park.
From its Dar es Salaam hub, Precision Air also operate services to Arusha, Bukoba, Kigoma, Kilimanjaro, Musoma, Mtwara, Tabora, Zanzibar and Nairobi, Kenya.
