Protea Hotels by Marriott has signed a new hotel in Pretoria – the Protea Hotels by Marriott Loftus Park.
The hotel is set to open later this year and is in the exclusive Loftus Park corporate, retail and lifestyle precinct. It is co-owned by Bluecor, a South Africa-based real estate development company, and Redefine and Abland.
The hotel will offer 152 rooms and conference facilities and meeting rooms catering for up to 180 people. Other facilities include a restaurant, coffee shop, rooftop swimming pool and bar and lounge with panoramic views of the city.
Loftus Park is situated in Arcadia, which is fast becoming a bustling business and leisure destination, with its central location, quick access to the Hatfield Gautrain Station and easy access to Johannesburg and OR Tambo International Airport.
The hotel is adjacent to Loftus Versveld Stadium and is expected to attract interest from the sporting world. It is also close to the Union Buildings, a number of embassies and government departments as well as schools and the University of Pretoria.
Together with its first phase of development, the hotel will open with a retail space, corporate office section and a Virgin Active Gym.
