Providence Hospitality has welcomed Franschhoek Country House & Villas to its growing global portfolio of hotels and guest houses.
The hospitality management company – which opened its doors in Stellenbosch before expanding internationally – has always retained a strong footprint in South Africa’s Cape Winelands region, particularly in the luxury boutique sector.
Providence Hospitality’s relationship with Franschhoek Country House & Villas first began in 2022 when Providence Hospitality’s marketing agency, Quivertree Digital Hospitality Solutions, began to assist with digital marketing services for the hotel. The relationship between the companies grew, and Franschhoek Country House & Villas has now entered into a full management contract with Providence Hospitality.
In Franschhoek, South Africa’s food and wine capital, the 25-room, five-star Franschhoek Country House & Villas has been operating as a family business for over 20 years.
The acclaimed in-house restaurant, Monneaux, overlooks Franschhoek Country House & Villa’s Provencal-style gardens and serves up an array of fine dining dishes paired with wines from the Franschhoek Valley and surrounds.
“We are very excited to bring this amazing Franschhoek boutique hotel icon into our growing quality portfolio and we look forward to being a part of its future growth story and success,” said Neil Hughes, Managing Director of Providence Hospitality South Africa.
Owner-manager of Franschhoek Country House & Villas, Juanita Snyman, said she was pleased that the hotel would retain its individual character while at the same time benefiting from greater exposure and a wider reach within Providence Hospitality’s portfolio.
“We are still who we are, just strengthening our house,” she explained. Snyman said the hotel would continue to work closely with its travel trade partners, adding that the trade’s support had been a key contributor to the hotel’s ongoing success over the years.
