Andersson’s Camp, situated in the Ongava Game Reserve bordering Etosha National Park has closed for a total rebuild, and is expected to open in mid-March.

Rob Moffett, Marketing Director at Ongava Game Reserve, told Tourism Update: “Ensuring a light footprint and an exceptional experience, the new lodge will only have seven twin-bedded units and one family unit (accommodating a total of 18 guests), where style and design is a testament to the future of conservation travel, yet retaining traditional elements.”

Each guest suite comprises en-suite facilities with a separate toilet, double indoor and outdoor showers, double vanity basin, mosquito net, tea- and coffee-making facilities, hairdryer and electronic safe. During winter, cosy hot water bottles and extra blankets are provided. There is a private viewing deck with a 180-degree views in each suite.

The social area, where guests gather for meals and to meet fellow wildlife enthusiasts, guides and naturalists, encompasses an under-cover and open-air dining area, a spacious lounge and bar, a sunken observation terrace, and open fireplaces. For specialist photographic parties, there is a dedicated photographic nook for review and editing of images. Other features include a uniquely Namibian curio shop, library and complimentary WiFi.

Activities include bird watching, game drives in Etosha National Park, seasonal guided nature walks, and guided game drives in Ongava Game Reserve.

The camp is located on a 30 000-hectare private game reserve with convenient access to Etosha National Park, and can be accessed by self-drive or by light aircraft.
