Lion Camp in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park is being completely renovated and will reopen in May.
Sarah Bentley, Reservation & Marketing Manager, told Tourism Update that the aim was to retain everything that was great about Lion Camp, while improving the entire guest experience.
“The new camp will provide a greater level of luxury to be enjoyed between activities and we are still offering exceptional value safaris,” said Bentley.
The new camp will be built with elevated decking, rooms are spread out to create more privacy, and two new suites will be introduced to maximise the prime positions.
“Our rooms will retain the essential ‘tree house’ aesthetic, with canvas walls and thatched roof, but with even more comfort. Our new water filtration system will ensure crystal-clear pressurised showers and solar will provide all our power,” Bentley added.
The main area will have additional space and light, and the boma will be redesigned. The lodge will comprise eight standard rooms and two suites.
Activities include game drives, walking safaris and night drives.
Lion Camp is 40km north of the Mfuwe Gate.
