Canadian travellers are still unable to make bookings on SAA’s site, www.flysaa.com. The website was taken down around August last year.
David Chorley, Director Sales Development Canada for SAA, says the site was taken down by SAA last year to conform to the new government policies and procedures regarding full disclosure in terms of pricing.
“I anticipate the site will be operational within the next month,” he says. When Tourism Update first reported on the site not operating in September last year, Chorley said he expected it to be up and running a few weeks later.
But he says because the bulk of all SAA bookings are driven by the agency trade, the SAA site not being active has had minimal impact on the airline’s bookings from Canada.
