South Africa’s inbound international arrivals for February grew by 8% compared with the same period last year, according to the February 2024 Tourism and Migrations Statistics report published by Statistics SA.
Overall, overseas arrivals jumped from 192 835 in February 2023 to 209 545 in February this year.
When compared with February 2019, international visitors are at 85% of pre-COVID levels.
Arrivals from Europe, North America, Central and South America, and Asia, all witnessed reasonable growth when compared with February last year.
Only arrivals from the Middle East and Australasia dipped slightly.

The table shows that arrivals from the US, Netherlands, and Belgium exceeded pre-pandemic levels.
