A message from the Welcome Team
It was truly a delight for the South African Tourism (SAT) Welcome campaign to once again extend a warm hand to all practitioners and entrepreneurs throughout the continent’s Tourism Industry to Meetings Africa - the only trade show that holds the advancement of Africa as a tourist destination at its core!
Our tourism & travel students from the University of Pretoria were eager to greet you with a smile at the ORT International Airport and lead you to the Gautrain station or awaiting shuttles. We hope they were able to answer any questions you may have asked about South Africa and Meetings Africa 2016 satisfactorily. The Welcome team was also on site the Meetings Africa’s exhibition floors at the Sandton Convention Centre (SCC), ready to make you as comfortable as possible as you conducted the business of showcasing Africa’s diverse service and product offerings.
Our shoeshine gents were present to help you put your best foot forward. Many of you took a break from trading to sit at the zebra chairs and allowed our shoe shiners, make you feel like royalty. We didn’t leave out the ladies as they got their leather bags cleaned at the shoeshine station and took a moment to freshen up in the SCC bathrooms where our Welcome team was on standby with perfume spritzers and lotions – we know that a little aromatic therapy is a must when doing business!
Just when fatigue of trading creeped in, Welcome recharge station was there to help you refuel with a delicious cup of coffee or with a freshly made power smoothie and a little popcorn for some sustenance. We hope you appreciated the team’s efforts to ensure your mobile devices stayed juiced-up for incoming appointments and bookings with the Welcome Power Banks.
A big well done to the 4 exhibitors who won iPad Minis each for simply displaying Africa’s unique warmth and most welcoming behavior. We thank you for going out of your way to make your guests/buyers feel welcome while giving great service and insights.
Finally, the Welcome team hopes that all our guests at Meetings Africa 2016 will take home the Welcome experience back with them to their businesses via our accessible Tourist toolkit on our Welcome website and continue to engage with us on our social media platforms.
