The Peermont D’oreale Grande Hotel at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg has completed a R49 million (€2.5 million) refurbishment introducing a refreshed design across 84 rooms and key public areas.
The refurbishment spans two floors and includes executive suites as well superior, deluxe and classic rooms. Interiors now feature custom inlay carpets, gold and teal colour schemes and bespoke furniture in ochre leather and royal blue velveteen.
Christelle Carstens, Group Rooms Operations Manager for Peermont Global, who collaborated with Blacksmith Africa Interior Design in the project, explains: “We aimed for an elegant, contemporary design that enhances the sense of luxury.”
Key enhancements include:
- New walk-in showers replacing traditional bathtubs featuring custom damask-patterned tiles
- Wall-to-wall vanities with illuminated mirrors
- Dedicated refreshment units
- Handcrafted 2.5 metre-high headboards with intricate leather stitching and suspended canopy lighting
The hotel lobby and corridors have also been redesigned with new furniture, carpets and accessories.
