Savuti, Khwai, and Linyanti Safaris’ latest acquisition, Crocodile Camp near Maun, is undergoing renovations before the anticipated opening in January.
SKL acquired the lodge this year and rebranded it Crocodile Safari Camp (CSC). It is located in Matlapaneng, 12km from Maun towards Moremi Game Reserve.
Reaboka Mbulawa SKL Managing Director, told Tourism Update that the work included building extra accommodation, increasing the number of room from 15 to 22. He said the new-look lodge would have three revamped presidential suites, three family rooms, two standard and eight deluxe rooms. A new restaurant is being added with a full view of the Thamalakane River, as well as a new lounge, a spa, gym and a small conference room with a capacity for 200 people.
“Typical of all SKL facilities, CSC will cater for both high-end, medium and the lower markets,” he said. There is a standalone camping site and ablution facilities have been added to each of the 10 available campsites.
Guests can take day trips into the Okavango Delta and sunset cruises along the Thamalakane River. Mbulawa said the camp would also do cultural tours in Maun and the surrounding communities.
