SECURA Traveller, a pioneering national initiative for the tourism industry, has launched a comprehensive toolkit for marketing and promoting the SECURA Traveller App.
The toolkit has been created to assist the industry with effectively communicating the app's benefits, which offers travellers “peace of mind in my pocket”, while supporting its widespread adoption and integration.
The toolkit includes a range of marketing assets and collateral, such as newsletter banners, social media assets, table talkers and screen displays. It also shares the important national hotline number and SECURA Traveller website details for more information. Also included is a handy step-by-step guide on activating the SECURA Traveller App to encourage travellers to download it.
The app uniquely provides comprehensive emergency assistance, specifically designed for travellers, at the touch of a button. Whether they need medical or crime-related assistance, or a “stand by me service,” help comes to them wherever they are. It also stores critical emergency information such as medical and travel insurance details, ensuring that the necessary administrative work is handled on the traveller’s behalf.
This is possible by connecting them to the largest network of emergency response and tourism support services in South Africa. The state-of-the-art technology, including on-demand smart tech with GPS location, ensures the rapid dispatch of the nearest response unit once the emergency button is activated.
The 24/7 Operations Centre provides immediate contact for added reassurance, and the specialist tourism support team, including traveller ambassadors, translators, and logistical facilitators, is always on standby, ready to assist.
The app is available to travellers at R49 (€2.40) per download from www.securatraveller.co.za, and is valid for 30 days. For drivers or guides there is an annual subscription at a significantly reduced rate of R350 (€16.90). A convenient, reliable safety tool, the SECURA Traveller App has also been designed for ease of use.
South Africa is a vast country with rural and remote areas, good and bad roads and, as in any foreign country or unknown area, getting lost or misdirected by navigation apps is possible. The SECURA Traveller App removes uncertainty and worry and ensures safe travels anywhere, as long as there is connectivity, says André du Toit, SATSA Safety & Security Chair.
He adds: “By embracing this important initiative and using the toolkit to create awareness, our industry can significantly enhance the safety and overall experience of tourists to our country. Their safety is our priority after all.”
