Sovereign Hotels has completed its merger with the eLan Property Group and African Insignia Hotels. 
The joint venture between Sovereign Hotels and eLan Property Group will be known as Sovereign eLan Hotels. Sovereign Hotels encompasses three-, four- and five-star city hotels, bush lodges, resorts and sectional-title developments in Africa and in the Indian Ocean Islands, while eLan Hospitality owns a number of hotels and resorts in Southern Africa. 
African Insignia Hotels’s brand represents a smaller portfolio of boutique properties in Gauteng, KwaZulu Natal and Mozambique. The Directors of African Insignia, Jessica Nhleko and Lerina McCall, welcomed the opportunity for collaboration and will be adding their skills to the Sovereign eLan team. 
Sovereign eLan Hotels has 23 properties in its portfolio and is in the process of developing 20 more.

The Executive Directors of the hospitality division of the eLan Property Group, under the guidance of Alan Vels, have been involved in the development and operation of over 90 hotels, large-scale integrated resort developments and game lodges in sub-Saharan Africa.
