The Spanish hotel chain, Riu Hotels & Resorts, recently announced its acquisition of Hideaway of Nungwi Resort & Spa in Zanzibar. It officially took over ownership on Wednesday (April 18), rebranding it to Riu Palace Zanzibar.

The property is on the Nungwi beachfront, on the northwest coast of the island, and consists of 102 ocean-front suites and villas.

Facilities include six restaurants and bars, conference rooms, a spa, fitness centre, kids’ club and tennis court.

The hotel is a 55-minute transfer from the airport and the capital, Stone Town.

All existing bookings will remain valid and confirmed.
