The Somkhanda Community Game Reserve in KwaZulu Natal recently welcomed 10 giraffes to strengthen the gene pool.

WILDLANDS, part of WILDTRUST, and the Emvokweni Community Trust, working collaboratively with the Giraffe Conservation Foundation and Tracy and Du Plessis Game Capture, translocated the giraffes from the Munyawane and Phinda Private Game Reserves.

Eight female giraffes and two males have been added to the male-dominated population at Somkhanda to boost the population.
