In commemoration of World Clean Up Day on September 16, Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino (part of the Minor Hotels group) participated in a collective clean-up effort to ensure a pristine environment for the tourist sites in Windhoek.
Avani Windhoek’s dedicated teams embarked on a journey that began at the hotel’s entrance and led them through the City Park, also known as Zoo Park. Along this path, they continued their commitment to preserving the beauty of the area by passing the iconic Christuskirche, the National Museum, and circling back to their starting point.
With just 12 dedicated team members, they managed to collect an impressive 31.35kgs of waste during this initiative.
GM of Avani Windhoek, Rudie Putter, said: “At Avani Windhoek, we are not only committed to providing exceptional hospitality experiences but also to being responsible stewards of our environment and community. World Clean Up Day provides us with an opportunity to show our dedication to sustainability and community involvement. We are grateful for our team’s hard work and the support of our guests who inspire us to be better every day.”
The hotel believes that by working together, it can achieve meaningful change and a more sustainable future for communities and the world at large.
