Marriott Hotels and Resorts will open the 254-room Kigali Marriott Hotel in September – its first property in Rwanda.
Suites will have floor-to-ceiling windows and marble bathrooms and all rooms will offer a private balcony with seating for two with garden views and a panoramic view of Kigali.
Complimentary Internet access will be available in each guest room and throughout the hotel as well as flat screen HD TVs.
Kigali Marriott Hotel will also offer 18 event rooms, the largest of which will be able to accommodate up to 1 120 people. The Kilimanjaro Ballroom will be able to host receptions for up to 600 guests. The hotel will also cater for weddings.
Other facilities include Cucina Restaurant offering Italian fare, the Lobby Bar offering cocktails, a spa and pool.
According to a survey by the W Hospitality Group, eight hotels with a combined 1 439 rooms are expected to be built in Rwanda this year.
Of those, seven have reported opening dates for this year, representing a 7% increase over last year, when 1 351 rooms were planned in the country.
International hotel brands Radisson Blu and Concept Hospitality will also open hotels in Kigali this year.
