Cape Town hotel, Tintswalo Atlantic, is opening a new restaurant, the Tintswalo Kitchen, on July 29.
The menu features fresh, seasonal cuisine presented as small plates. The fixed menu price allows diners a choice of five items selected from the menu of small plates, including seafood, vegetarian and vegan options as well as desserts.
The menu will be accompanied by an award-winning wine list pending current restrictions on alcohol.
Diners have a choice of either cosy fireside dining or outdoor seating on the deck with a view of the sea. Health and safety protocols will be implemented and, during the current COVID-19 restrictions, no more than 40 diners will be accommodated.
The restaurant will be open to both guests of the lodge and casual diners, for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday as well as Sunday family lunch. The venue will be closed for dinner on Sundays as well as all day on Mondays.
The current dining area at Tintswalo Atlantic will be more than doubled in size for the new restaurant, incorporating the space that is currently the hotel lounge and bar area.
Two of the guest rooms are being converted into a private bar and lounge area for residents of the hotel. This exclusive area will feature sea views and overlook the swimming pool, deck and private beach. When the hotel reopens on July 29, it will have 10 guest suites, including a two-bedroom Presidential Suite.
