Traditional European markets (excluding the UK), were also identified as having a strong post-pandemic recovery, accounting for 27% of responses. With the slower pace of recovery recorded by the UK in 2022, only 13% of respondents selected the traditional top source market. The results are reflective of the latest 2022 tourism stats, which show that the US continues to be the top source market for South Africa, although the UK and European markets are now showing strong signs of recovery.
