Turkish Airlines has delayed its return to Mombasa, one of two airports in Kenya, the other being Nairobi, to which the airline operates passenger flights.
The carrier began flights between Istanbul and Mombasa in 2012, when it operated a triangular route to Kilimanjaro. It later began non-stop flights between Istanbul and Mombasa in 2019.
According to Simple Flying, Turkish Airlines was due to return to Mombasa on March 26 this year, however, the return has been delayed until October 29.
The latest schedule for the flights will be as follows:
- Istanbul to Mombasa: TK573, 20h25-03h30+1
- Mombasa to Istanbul: TK574, 04h20-11h30
The route is due to be operated four times weekly with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Corporate Sales Manager of Turkish Airlines, Trevor Brown, tells Tourism Update that flights to Mombasa have been delayed due to aircraft operational reasons. He says the dates have yet to be confirmed and are unclear at this stage.
