Air Madagascar will cease direct operations between Johannesburg and Antananarivo early next year.

Flights for the Johannesburg - Antananarivo route can still be booked for December, however travel agents who spoke to Tourism Update’s sister publication eTNW confirmed that the route can no longer be booked from the end of January. The GDS does not show any flight availability for January and February onwards, the agents said.

Although Air Madagascar has confirmed that the route has been cancelled, the airline declined to comment further at the time of going to publishing.
