Air Seychelles has announced that it will introduce services to Hong Kong in February 2013, subject to regulatory approvals, following the delivery of its second Airbus A330-200 aircraft in January 2013.
The airline will operate three return services per week from the Seychelles to Hong Kong via Abu Dhabi. Guests travelling between the Seychelles and Hong Kong will remain on the same aircraft and keep the same seat for both legs of the journey.
By operating the flights over Abu Dhabi, Air Seychelles can also codeshare with Etihad Airways to support further traffic to and from China. According to the airline, this dual approach will enable the airline to capture a significant market share.
The airline has also confirmed an increase in services to Abu Dhabi, from four to seven return services per week, a key part of a larger business plan approved by the airline’s board of directors.
The schedule will operate as follows:
Flights will depart the Seychelles at 15h30 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 20h00. From Abu Dhabi flights will depart at 21h20, arriving in Hong Kong at 08h40 the following day.
The return service will depart Hong Kong at 18h00 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 23h30. From Abu Dhabi flights depart at 02h00, arriving in the Seychelles at 06h40.
The A330-200 aircraft will operate in a two-class configuration on the sector, offering 18 Pearl business class and 236 economy class seats.
