The charter flight industry in Botswana is reportedly expecting a formal announcement from the government on the introduction of regional, and possibly even international, charter flights to the country.
Official government sources have not confirmed this but Tourism Update heard the news from two independent and reputable sources.
This would be the first easing of inbound travel restrictions by the country, which has had its borders closed to all except returning citizens since March.
Operators have told Tourism Update that they welcome the news and are eager to bring tourists back to Botswana.
