Chapman’s Peak Drive will be closed every Wednesday from 10h00 to 16h00 in February and March to facilitate critical conservation work by the Table Mountain National Park team. The project is focusing on removing invasive alien vegetation to help preserve the region’s biodiversity.
The closures will take place on the following dates:
- February: 12, 19 and 26
- March: 5, 12, 19 and 26
Travellers are advised to use alternative routes on these days.
Chapman’s Peak Drive is a key part of the Cape Floral Region – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Removing invasive species is necessary to protect indigenous plant life and maintain ecological balance.
