Mfuwe Lodge and surrounding camps – owned by The Bushcamp Company and a member of Classic Portfolio – have undergone upgrades and have introduced two new activities for 2020.
Located in South Luangwa, the lodge has undergone a refurbishment of the reception, dining areas, library, deck, pool and suites. A new family villa, featuring two en-suite bedrooms, has been added, along with a photographic studio with workshop facilities.
Furthermore, the nearby, Kuyenda bushcamp will be undergoing upgrades until mid-June. En-suite bathrooms will have the bucket showers replaced by hot and cold running water, and a fifth chalet as well as a second guide and 4x4 vehicle will be added to the camp.
At the Kapamba bushcamp the units feature a raised sleep-out deck with a toilet. The sunken baths in all four rooms are being replaced by large double showers. The camp also has a new rim-flow pool overlooking the Kapamba River, but due to renovations will open later than usual, in April.
Both the lodge and the bushcamps now offer yoga sessions and photographic vehicles that have had the sides removed, allowing photographers to get the ideal angle.
