Owner of Centre Stage Travel, Colin Fryer, extended a heartfelt message to owners of Jambo Guest House Barry and Mina Thomas following the news of the guest house’s closure.

“I can visualise the Jambo Guest House guest lounge filled with excited, exuberant and contented guests, sharing their African experience with all who would listen. This property attracted both locals and the international inbound with a goodly number of repeat guests entrusting their 'African moment' to their attentive, supportive and caring hosts.

Thomas, Mina and their exceptional team created this patch of service excellence in 1995 (a solitary year after our first democratic election in 1994) and since then rode the challenges, driven by their prowess and, in many ways, reflected their resilience, determination and utter commitment to serve our industry. When we talk about sustainability, investing both human and financial capital within your business, is their passage not a real reflection of these ethics?

There will be many travel and tourism companies closing shop this year. Yet, there will also be many a soul and enterprise who see the incredible opportunity we are gifted with in this moment and go and take it! Business is, by its nature, a challenge. Doing business here in South Africa is decidedly a challenge but hey, what would life be without a strong challenge,” said Fryer.
