DMCs expect to see tourism recover in Q3 of this year once vaccines are widely available in major source markets. The writer of this week’s top comment agrees.
MD and CEO of Walthers Destination Business Solutions Africa, Daryl Keywood, commented on the article ‘DMCs eye Q3 for recovery’.
“Agree that Q3 should see the start of a recovery. The optimism and few leisure bookings we had over the holidays have dried up and we are now in a holding pattern waiting for the pandemic to ease. Declining infection figures and vaccinations are key to restoring confidence. Regrettably, business tourism/MICE is going to take a bit longer to recover,” said Keywood.
