Congo Airways launched a new domestic route, the inaugural flight between Kinshasa and Muanda, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), took off on August 17.
The route is served twice weekly, every Friday and Sunday, using a Dash8-Q400 aircraft.
Flight schedule is as follows, every Friday and Sunday:
- Depart Kinshasa at 15h00 – Arrive in Muanda at 16h10.
- Depart Muanda at 16h40 – Arrive in Kinshasa at 17h45.
During the launch ceremony, GM and MD of Congo Airways, Désiré Balazire Bantu said: “Thanks to the partnership with the Hotel La Beviour, two rotations will be carried out every week, on Friday and Sunday between Kinshasa and Muanda with the possibility of increasing the frequencies according to the demand,”
“This is the great innovation to allow the Congolese people and foreigners visiting our country to discover the immensity of tourism wealth that God has endowed the Democratic Republic of Congo,” added Bantu.
On August 18, after the inaugural flight, delegates responsible for the new connection sat around the hotel’s pool in Muanda. The Administrator of the Territory of Muanda, Roger Mbala, praised the initiative which he says is expected to raise the economy and tourism within the province.
According to Bantu, through this partnership with La Beviour, which is located in Muanda on the Atlantic coast, at the mouth of the Congo River, is that passengers will be able to travel easily at unbeatable rates including two nights at the hotel.

Bantu further clarified the purpose of this new destination and the partnership between Congo Airways and Hotel La Beviour. According to Balazaire, the partnership is a link sealed to grant pleasant stays to for the likes of tourism. Expanding on this, he said: “Also to anyone wishing to travel in better conditions and staying in a setting that meets all standards.”
Bantu mentioned that the national carrier aims to launch flights to Europe, Asia and America in the near future.
“Our effort, and that of the Congolese Civil Aviation is to get the DRC out of the ban list (Black list) of the Europe Union,” concluded Bantu.
