Tamarind Group expects to open Tamarind Tree Hotel in Nairobi in November.
The 160-room hotel is situated at the Carnivore Grounds, about four kilometres from the city centre.
The hotel will offer three restaurants, including a 24-hour ‘grab and go’ food shop, and three bars, business and conference facilities, a gym and heated pool.
Tamarind GM, Victor Shitakha, says the facility will offer four-star services, and says the targeted clientele include both business and leisure travellers. “The property will be a modern concept hotel imbued with an African flavour that will incorporate innovative features to suit the needs of business and leisure travellers.”
Guests will enjoy spacious rooms, free WIFI, satellite television and will be able to access the popular Carnivore Restaurant through a short nature trail from the hotel.
Other properties by the Group which are at the development stage include the Osotua Tamarind Tree, a 52 luxury home collection off the shores of Lake Naivasha, and the Tamarind Tree Suites in the Rosslyn area, north of Nairobi.
Tamarind Group operates the Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi, Tamarind Village and Tamarind Restaurant in Mombasa as well as the Tamarind Dhow.
