Swiss carrier Edelweiss will resume once-a-week direct flights from Zurich to Cape Town from November 25, for the winter season.
"We are delighted that, with the vacation destination Cape Town, we can offer not only all sports enthusiasts and nature lovers, but also wine lovers and gourmets, a varied and carefree vacation," said Patrick Heymann, Chief Commercial Officer of Edelweiss.
Since October 19, there are no longer any entry restrictions for travellers from Switzerland to South Africa. There is also currently no quarantine obligation for travellers returning from Cape Town.
In addition, Edelweiss currently flies on the long-haul route from Zurich directly to Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), Mahé (Seychelles), Malé (Maldives) and Cancún (Mexico).
Edelweiss is a sister carrier of SWISS and a member of the Lufthansa Group.
