Ethiopian Airlines will resume flights to Gaborone on Saturday (November 14) after suspending services on March 29 due to COVID-19.
Area Manager for Gaborone, Mesay Ayalew, said the airline would fly via Victoria Falls with an initial twice-weekly service on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Flights will depart Addis Ababa at 08h35 and arrive at Victoria Falls at 12h15. It will depart at 13h00 and arrive in Gaborone at 14h15. The return flight will depart Gaborone at 15h00 and arrive in Addis Ababa at 21h30.
On arrival in Botswana, passengers must present a negative COVID-19 PCR result taken not more than 72 hours before departure and they will be screened for COVID-19.
More airlines are returning to Botswana following the government’s decision to relax travel restrictions to resuscitate economy. Before COVID-19 lockdowns, Qatar Airways, Airlink, Ethiopian Airlines and Air Botswana were offering connectivity to Gaborone. Emirates has reportedly also expressed an interest in flying to Botswana soon.
