Ethiopian Airlines will launch a new service between Addis Ababa and Copenhagen on May 22.
The new flight will operate five times a week, daily excepting for Tuesdays and Sundays, using a 315-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew said Copenhagen would be the airline’s 21st destination in Europe.
“Copenhagen will become a crucial gateway for Ethiopian Airlines in northern Europe and southern Scandinavia,” Tasew added.
Thomas Woldbye, CEO of Copenhagen Airport, said: “The airport in Addis Ababa has become one of Africa’s most important hubs, with onward connections to more than 60 different cities in Africa, thus this new route will be an amazing gateway to the whole continent for Copenhagen.”
Ethiopian first started serving Copenhagen in November 1999 but the flight was suspended about four years later.
